The information that a controller needs to provide to a data subject when the personal data have not been obtained from the data subject himself. This information must be provided to the data subject within a reasonable period and no later than one month.

Art. 14 GDPR is a crucial element for a controller to fulfil the principle of transparency stated in Art. 5(1)(a) GDPR and also declare the requirement for a controller to comply with the data subjects right to be informed.

The information that a data subject has the right to take part in is defined in Art. 14 GDPR and shall, for example, contain contact details to the controller, information regarding the processing and information regarding the rights each data subject can invoke.
